From the Mind of Brie

A look into my life, my thoughts and beliefs, and anything else that comes up. You will be able to follow along the path leading into my future -- whatever that might be...

Here's a random version of everything that has been going on --- and boy has there been a LOT!!!

Well, We're almost done shooting the short film that Evan's been working on (the last one is set to be shot Sunday). Playing the lead has definitely given me some serious perspective on just how much work it takes. Who would have thought that it would take over 15 hours of working and filming just for a 5 minute scene?!?! I am gaining priceless experience being in front of a 16 mm camera, though! I needed this! I spent all of last weekend in a cabin without a bathroom, NO running water, and limited food. We had to film outdoors until 3 or 4 in the morning when it was only 28 degrees!!! It was interesting seeing that I was the only female traveling with a crew of lighting and sound guys (and Evan, of course). I'm not sure I've ever been so cold in my life. By the time they shouted "THAT'S A WRAP!!!" I was completely lethargic and shaking uncontrollably. The "best" part was when Tommy (the guy who play's my crazy boyfriend) had to use a real hatchet at one point... he had to shove me onto a sofa with the hatchet to my neck, and he accidentally pushed a little too hard and realized that he'd cut me a little. It's gotten much better, so no worries!

Knee news??? Well, I'm probably going to get an arthroscopy over the summer when I have enough time to recover and hobble around on crutches. I've seen a specialist and am waiting to meet to another one soon about my back. The good news is that the blood test for arthritis came back negative!
I'm also trying to get everything started down at the agency. My "book/portfolio" is starting to build, and I will be getting my Composite Cards printed soon with my agency's name on them (MTM)! Hopefully, with any luck, I'll be working acting/modeling soon enough and training professionially at the same time for my music AND acting. Besides all of my other classes, I've been learning more music theory and acting skills lately, so I'm not taking a break by any means! My Berklee decision letter is on its way to my mailbox right this minute, so in the next few days, I'll know whether or not I'll be spending the next few years in Boston. If not, I'll be off to study and work in Hollywood. Either way, I'm working hard for my goals!

Don't worry, I haven't slacked off in schoo and I've been working hard. I just got notice that I am in the top 5% of the students here at Chapman and I am also on the Provost's list. I am still learning on the acoustic guitar and I'd still love to learn how to play the electric guitar soon, but I won't get ahead of myself. I still need to get back to studying the piano again. Anyway....
This semester has served as a serious awakening for me. I've realized that my love for photography is now more prominent than ever since I actually know what I'm doing with the camera, the lighting, and now the actual developing and printing processes. My love for writing couldn't be any stronger. And lastly, after having some distant thoughts of humanitarian work for quite some time now, I see that in my future as well. My class on Albert Schweitzer has made many things clearer for me. Ultimately, I must leave the world better than I found it.

I know how crazy all of this must sound to all of you, but somehow, all of my random passions in life will all fumble into one and it will all make much more sense. But for now, I seem to be determined to become an expert in a million things. Nah....I just desire raw knowledge any which way I can get it. I wish I could do it all. Who knows....if fate allows it....maybe I'll get remotely close!!! ;-)
