The last few weeks have been some of the most confusing and emotionally tiring I've had in a while. It would be one thing if it just involved my love life, but because it has incorporated both my love life AND endangered some of my very best friendships, it drained the energy from me quickly. I won't dive into the details, but I WILL tell you that I came out to be much stronger than I knew I could.
Unfortunately, by the end of the chaos, I found myself sick with Bronchitis and bound to my apartment. It's midterm time, so I've had to miss two midterms, many classes, and I was only able to tutor one out of my six students over the past week. If there's one thing I cannot stand, it's the feeling that I am not being responsible or productive...or....okay....in control. *wink wink* Normally, I would've forced myself to go to class for midterm review and what not, but this time, I really was too sick.
Actually, I'm pretty lucky. I have some of the best friends in the entire world. When Sara and Summer figured out that I wasn't taking care of myself (i.e. staying up all night trying to catch up with homework), they put together a little intervention. Summer filled my room with her warmth and spirit by lighting a few of my candles and putting on Enya. She made me Tea, cleaned my dishes, and tucked me in. She then turned out the lights, said goodnight, and she and Sara left me to sleep at 12:45 a.m.!!! I couldn't remember the last time I went to bed that early! That night, I got some good rest! And it's a good thing too, because I'm almost certain that my bronchitis was in danger of progressing to pneumonia with the symptoms I had up to that point. Thank you to my girls who showed me that friends really are there when you need them, even after so much turmoil. I love you guys....girls...haha....
I know this posting is a little more personal and boring, but it was relevant. I hope all of you are doing well. For those of you who have been following up with my father's health, he's doing much better. He still has some strange pains somewhat often, but he's healing from surgery very well. Thank you for your concern! Take care.....
