Good Morning!
It's been quite a while since I've posted anything here. I've needed to gather my thoughts and absorb my life's happenings before I felt confident enough to post anything publicly. Well, here I am, finally. First off, allow me to say that this summer has not really been what I had expected it would be. What's different is the fact that I originally wanted to be recording, performing, and getting classes out of the way, but I'm working and going to school a heck of a lot more than I'm doing anything else. If you didn't already know, I'm spending my summer in Boston, MA. I'm taking 7 classes and working 3 part-time jobs. I'm a fitness specialist at Curves (a women's gym) in the Back Bay, an english tutor to international students at Berklee College of Music, and when the Berklee Performance Center needs me, I fill in shifts as an usher (which really pays off when it's a pro show!).
My free time is quite limited and during that "free" time, I've been trying my best to maintain a relationship with my significant other. I would rather not delve into too many details regarding that, but I will say that it has not been an easy road to take. Many of you will remember that I experienced a form of betrayal back in March - it put my heart at a standstill, but somehow I've managed to pull through one way or another. I'm still not fully over it, and I don't think I ever will be. Now, I'm just trying to find out what it is that my spirit needs. The big picture.... I know that I need to look at the big picture. It hasn't been all pain, though, because we have had some beautiful memories. It's just so hard when you get caught up in the pain that love can cause. I'm handling this one day at a time, and that's all I can do.
On the school end, I've really been using both sides of my brain. I'm taking Accounting, Web Design and Management, and an International Economics class...However, I'm also in the Berklee Country Ensemble, so I've been working with a band once a week this semester. I'm almost done with Ear Training and Harmony as I am in level 4 of both of those classes. If you still have Ear Training courses to take, I HIGHLY recommend Robin Ginenthal! She is fantastic. Conducting has been an adventure with conductor, George Monseur, as my professor.
I will hopefully be recording and performing more towards the end of the summer, so I will be sure to update all of you on that soon. If you haven't already done so, please check out: http://www.myspace.com/briannewidaman. That is my website for the time being. By the end of August, I should have a REAL website up and running - designed by yours truly! ;-) Who would've thought?! Any questions, please email me at jamiebrie@hotmail.com. Also, please note that you can click on any of the photographs that I have posted here on my blogsite and it will take you directly to my personal photo gallery. If you take a look at those pictures, you'll probably have a better idea of what I've been up to over the last few months.
Take care, all... I'll be sure to keep up with my writing, I promise. I just needed to kick myself in the butt (which is hard, believe me!) and start over again. Have a wonderful weekend...
~Brie~
