Anyone who thinks I'm sweet, quiet and passive probably would've paid big bucks to see me step up to the jerks who delivered my things today. Seriously. It was quite the scene. I even had to stand IN FRONT OF THE SEMI to block the guy from driving away. I figured they wouldn't dare run me over and get a manslaughter charge tacked on to the rest of the charges that'll be coming their way shortly.

The guy threatened to drive away with hundreds of dollars and claim that we'd never given it to him if we didn't sign something saying that he had delivered everything in good condition.

Word to the wise: NEVER use Progressive Relocation, Inc. (Plantation, FL) and National Movers (Chicago, IL) to move your things -- not down the street and definitely not across the country.

I don't have all of my things and I probably will never see them again -- what I do have is permanently and irreparably damaged. Progressive Relocation unlawfully represented themselves as a legitimate moving company. They are not. They only BOOK moves with random truck companies. THEY BROKE THE LAW SO MANY TIMES. The moving company they hired was National Movers (though it's still unclear who the guiltiest party is at this point).

Today, my stuff was delivered in absolute chaos. Everything was bent, torn, chipped, cracked, dented, scratched and/or scarred. They were even picking up random, unmarked items strewn about the truck and asking me if they were mine. Boxes that were once nicely shaped are now more like cardboard boulders. They didn't move my stuff, they THREW it from truck to truck, warehouse to warehouse. Not only am I out a couple thousand dollars worth of personal goods (and insurance will only compensate for so much), but I basically paid them to damage my property. Even if the insurance covers some of the damamged items, we still paid an arm and a leg to get it all moved from TN to CA. This means war.

Needless to say... I'm pissed and I'm not losing this one.
